Moving and Relocating RSS FeedsThoughts on Majorca? - Normally I would have imagined Majorca to be a horrible mixture of drunk teenage nightclubs and gaudy concrete 70's throwbacks. However, my dad recently mentioned that Alcudia was on his list and I've got to admit I'm surprised - it looks seriously nice, and good for the kids. Also checked out Puerto Pollensa. Does anyone have any specific hints or tips about the island or the specific resorts? Am tempted to think it could be cheaper than Rhodes as well. :)....Feed Source: www.aardvarktravel.net Fiji Vacation Pictures - Tokoriki and Viti Levu Islands - I just went through my several thousand pictures from our trip to Fiji. We stayed at the Amunuca Resort on Tokoriki Island for most of the time and a few days on the main island of Viti Levu.
Here are some of the highlights from the trip. I hope you enjoy them.

Friendliest and unfriendliest countries in the world - Following this thread about Guatemala, I thought it'd be interesting to explore which countries each of us thought were the most and least friendly.
For me, personally, I would say Greenland or Tanzania has been the most friendly, and Morocco possibly the least. Without wishing to be controversial, I find South Africans a little abrupt also! (but the people we stayed with were admittedly extremely friendly).
Paul.... food - Have you ever tried Chinese food? (Many, many, many times Me,too.Every day.).... Vietnamese food for travel - Com (boiled rice)
In Vietnam, com is eaten at the main meals of the day (lunch and dinner). Rice is eaten together with a variety of different dishes and is made from different kinds of rice. Typically fragrant rice is used, such as Tam Thom and Nang Huong. An ordinary meal may consist of boiled rice and the following:
Mon an kho (meal without soup) consists of dishes of pork, fish, shrimp, and vegetable cooked in oil, as well as vegetables, pickles, etc.
Mon canh (meal with soup) consists of a soup made with pork or spare-ribs, crab meat, and fish.
In the past several years, people in urban centers have begun to go out for lunch at the food stalls on the street. Consequently, there has been a proliferation of temporary food stalls along many sidewalks and public spaces in the cities. Some stalls are open until early in the morning to cater to regular customers.... Mountain Biking in the Alps - Just thought I'd try and inspire some thrill seekers to try mountain biking in the European Alps.
I have been going to Morzine, about 1hr drive from Geneva. It's a great place for all levels of riding, and there is so much more to do from walking/hiking to white water rafting, via ferrata and even parascending.
The bike trails are graded like skiing with blue the easiest, then red, then black. there is a great mix of cross country, freeride and downhill.
I spend half my week doing all-day freerides, and the other half I spend on the purpose built, world cup downhill tracks. The ski lifts run in most locations, and you can hook your bike to it and it will take you and your bike to the top.
I absolutely love it, and the weather is usually pretty good. search Google for more info, or ask me in this thread, I'd be happy to help.... Adventure Travel in tight budget? - I am living in the Philippines, looking for a traveling adventure with my friends. Some of my friends want to know about the budget. We want to go for travelling little squeezed budget. We would not like to go to Hongkong or China. So can anybody advise me on this issue?.... What would you do? - Hi guys!
I have to fly back home on the 4 of July and just want to ask a general question.
What would you do, if you know that you have to stay at the airport for more
than 12 hrs from 7 pm to 8 am. Would you sleep in a hotel (cheapest one, which is
near to the airport costs EUR 94,-) or would you sleep at the airport?
I am a student and don't have so much money, but I slept already at different airports
all over the world and everyone, who did that once, knows how awful that is. :x
I don't want to sleep in a hostel, because I am travelling with 2 huge cases and a small
backbag and there are no hostels, which are really close to the airport.
Okay so what would you do? Paying EUR 94 and having a nice night inc. breakfast or staying at the airport for more than 12 hrs with no sleep at all? :?
Want to hear your opinions.... Travel Hangman - Time for a new game on here!
I present to you "Travel Hangman". http://www.paul-johnson.co.uk/forum-images/hang.gif
It's like normal hangman, except it's travel related. It might be a place, the name of a company, something that you do when you travel anything that's got something to do with travel.
OK, first off we need some rules:
1. You are allowed up to 12 wrong guesses a guess could be the suggestion of a letter or the suggestion of the whole thing
2. Nobody is allowed to make a guess until the person that's started the game has responded to any outstanding guesses. For example, if someone guesses 'A', you must first wait for the originator of the game to confirm whether there is or isn't an 'A' in the word. It's also probably helpful if the originator posts a list of wrong guesses to date.... Hotel room or Apartment? - What do you prefer during your holiday . a Hotel room or an Apartment? Thanks in advance!.... Southern Africa by 4x4 - Hi everyone!
I am looking to go to Southern Africa next year and explore it in a 4x4 with a rooftent. It seems to be an awesome way to travel and I'd like to see the Kruger National Park, Mozambique and perhaps Botswana too (though not the expensive Okavango).
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with ideas/advice?
